Frequently Asked Questions
A subluxation is a misalignment of the spine that can interfere with nerve function. If left untreated, subluxations can lead to symptoms like pain, as well as long-term issues such as spinal degeneration and other health problems.
How many chiropractic visits will I need?
The number of visits you’ll need depends on your individual condition and treatment goals. At Rumph Chiropractic Clinic, your chiropractor will discuss this with you during your initial consultation and develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
EMG, or electromyography, is a diagnostic tool used at Rumph Chiropractic Clinic to measure muscle function. It helps identify issues related to spinal problems, allowing us to provide the most effective care for your condition.
X-rays may be necessary to get a detailed view of your spine and diagnose specific issues. If you already have X-rays from another doctor, please bring them with you. Depending on their quality and when they were taken, we might still need to take additional views.
How long will my first visit take, and will I get adjusted?
Your first visit to Rumph Chiropractic Clinic typically lasts 60-90 minutes, which includes time for paperwork, a thorough consultation, and any necessary diagnostic tests. Whether you receive an adjustment during this visit will depend on your chiropractor’s assessment during the consultation.
What if I’m pregnant? Can I still see a chiropractor?
Yes, chiropractic care is both safe and beneficial during pregnancy. At Rumph Chiropractic Clinic, we offer specialized prenatal care tailored to your unique needs during this special time.
What are the benefits of chiropractic care?
Chiropractic care at Rumph Chiropractic Clinic can provide significant benefits, including pain relief, improved mobility, increased range of motion, reduced inflammation, and enhanced overall well-being.
How long will it take before I’m better?
While you may experience relief within 1-12 weeks, the timeline can vary based on your condition. For long-term wellness, continued care beyond just pain relief is recommended to help you achieve and maintain optimal health.
I’m apprehensive about the ‘popping’ sound during adjustments. Are there alternatives?
If you’re uncomfortable with the traditional “popping” sound during adjustments, Rumph Chiropractic Clinic offers alternatives. We can use an instrument called an “Activator,” which provides effective adjustments without the noise, ensuring your comfort throughout your treatment.
What kind of education does a D.C. have?
Doctors of Chiropractic are required to have four years of pre-chiropractic education that is similar to pre-med courses. Then four years of Chiropractic College are required before graduation. This is very similar to a medical doctor or an osteopathic doctor’s educational requirements.

Does Dr. Rumph treat athletic injuries?
As you’ll learn when you come to our office, chiropractic doesn’t treat athletic injuries per se. Instead, chiropractic removes nerve interference which often results in athletic injuries not healing properly or as quickly as they should. Chiropractic helps improve athletic performance by maximizing the body’s physical potential.
